Design of copper access networks has never been easier and faster. TeleCAD-GIS offers a powerful set of tools that do not inhibit the creativity of designers while at the same time dramatically accelerate and automate time-consuming and repetitive processes. Possibility of errors arising due to the "human factor" is particularly reduced with such processes.
TeleCAD-GIS enables automatic creation of hierarchical network tree, i.e. network tree can display telecommunications network elements shown in the site plan starting from MDF, through a complete network infrastructure of each detected serving area right down to the end users.
Each element displayed in the tree can be located on the site plan and vice versa. Native object properties are displayed (such as attenuation, capacity...) as well as calculated properties (e.g. element's distance from the exchange...). Upstream and downstream branch of any arbitrary element within the network tree can be isolated and manipulated and/or used for further analysis.
Complete sub-system for the automatic cable laying along predefined route, determination of the network type (distribution or drop plant) and calculation of length (route, sinuosity, slack loop...). Rich, extendable catalog of copper cables is provided and associated with material code list of the specification.
Automated cable connecting
Cables are connected automatically based on the cable laying direction with the possibility of automatic or manual correction in case the user does not pay attention to the laying direction. Everything is adjusted to the designing logic accompanied with the automated selection of suitable enclosure types from the catalogue based on a properties of copper cables that are being connected (capacity, diameter, etc.).
Fully automated numbering and labeling of all network elements: splices, street cabinets, SAIs, distribution terminations, reserves, NIDs... Detection and numbering of serving area elements can be serial or according to the rule of main branch. It is possible to define the type of the farthest element in the network, as well as numerous other processing.
When numbering, program offers automatic calculation of twisted pairs positions in the main cable and on the main distribution frame for every element of the situation plan, effectively - automatic splicing is performed. Needles to say that manual numbering and labeling is always an option.
Distribution terminal schematic diagrams
Block diagram of the distribution network is fully adapted to the strict standards of geo-informatics in a manner that the geometry of the network site plan transforms into the orthogonal schematic representation. Software automatically calculates the positions of subscribers' pairs on the connection and disconnection modules of distribution terminals, positions of the spare pairs, and the positions of subscribers' pairs on the main distribution frame.
Cable capacity optimization
Automatic capacity optimization of distribution and drop cables is provided. It is enough to lay cables along the route, and the application automatically calculates the capacities that meet the requirements defined by the capacity of the termination elements. If necessary, cable diameter is also optimized during this process (e.g. 0.4mm to 0.6 mm); cables are connected if the user had not already done this operation; optimization of splice enclosure type, depending on the cables sizes.
Specially adapted set of analytical tools - both for the designers, as well as the auditors of telecom operators: interactive validation of the telecommunication network facilities numbering according to standards. Possibility of displaying the location and the type of possible discrepancies, as well as proposal of the valid numbering for each object are provided.
Schematic diagram (distribution network)
The software can generate a block diagram of the distribution network for a selected serving area based on the data from the site plan drawing. Scheme is in geospatial accordance with the site plan, also taking into account the structure of the conduit network. It automatically calculates the active twisted pairs of the distribution cables, and the result is displayed on the layout in the form of block diagram.
Software includes a set of tools for capacitive and logical consistency checks of designed network structure: l
• locating objects omitted from the network topology;
• warnings indicating insufficient capacity accompanied with the proposed optimal capacity of distribution and drop cables;
• proposal of alternative diameter;
• warnings indicating illegal cable attenuation, poor splice case installment;
• numerous other analysis that help the designer to correct the potential failures during network design process.
Splice closure wiring diagram
Automated generation of splicing table that depicts wiring of copper cable twisted pairs within each splice enclosure of the selected serving area. Program calculates (by itself) or adopts manually entered splice label, closure type and defines the capacity and splicing order of incoming (upstream) and outgoing (downstream) cables.
BOQ is adjustable to material specification of different telecom operators. It possesses the possibility to simultaneously process multiple serving areas, resulting in a graphical presentation of performed calculations (i.e. reports). Generated reports can be exported into multiple file formats: Microsoft Word or Excel, Adobe PDF, or XML format - suitable for transfer to other databases or object-modelers. During specification generation fully automated calculation of lengths and capacities, i.e. quantity calculation of all site plan elements is performed.
Distribution terminals table
Automatic generation of the distribution terminals table for a selected serving area, where the program takes the available data from the site plan and displays them in a form of table that can be immediately printed and/or exported in several different file formats. Table shows designated positions and twisted pairs on the MDF and main cable respectively for each distribution terminal accompanied with other data such as: numeration, distance from MDF, graphical symbol...
Distribution terminal diagram
Automatic generation of distribution terminal table and the list of subscribers for selected element or entire serving area. Program assumes existing data or calculates by itself parameters of the access network, including following: position of subscriber twisted pairs on each distribution terminal, position on MDF, position within main cable, position within distribution terminal immediate cable, position on connecting/disconnecting module and displays them along other associated data such as subscriber name, surname, phone number, address etc.
